Oct-06, 2004 @ N/A miles The Saturn is gone, lost to fire on Aug-19, 2004. I'm probably not going to add anymore Saturn content, and www.jonniesantos.com is getting a redo Jan-2005. You'll find out then what replaced my SL-2. |

Sep-02, 2004 @ 91,529 miles Fire Part III... Two weeks ago was the fire that destroyed my Saturn. As of today my claim has moved to the person who will make me an offer. He has to review the case and I need to fax him a copy of any receipts and or description of aftermarket parts on the car. An up side is that I got the final mileage (I thought the gauge cluster melted) and that has a note of finality. |

Aug-28, 2004 @ 91,??? miles Fire Part II... It's been 9 days since the fire. Insurance called a couple of days ago and said they were totaling the car. My claim goes to another person who will determine what they are going to pay me. In the mean time, I got a letter from a lien sales company representing the towing company, who want their tow and storage fees - the insurance said they were taking care of that... Sad. I've paid these damn premiums for years, never needed to file a claim, and now when I do they are slow to respond. Buzz... Oh, and this type of claim includes no rental car either (like they care). |

Aug-19, 2004 @ 91,??? miles Fire... Engine started running really rough, Service Engine Soon light came on, and I tried to drive it to the dealer a couple of miles away. Before I got there it started smoking. When I got out of the car there was fire under the car on or near the catalytic converter. Soon the fire burned into the cabin and shortly after the fire dept. showed up to put the fire out. The car is currently in a yard waiting for the insurance guy to go over. Thursday was a very, very sad day. |

May-02, 2004 @ 88,979 miles The coils were the last to arrive in my order of new ignition parts. So today I put in new plugs, cables, coils and the cool coil wire retainers from SPS. I had to scrape a little bit of one of the coils mounting slots to match up with the OEM coil shoe (mounting base), other than that everything went well and started and idles very nicely. Also, the coolant vomiting has completely stopped. Now to save for some new tires (again)... |

Apr-10, 2004 @ 88,487 miles I'm getting some missing and bucking at low rpm's under a lugging condition. I suspect ignition probs and found one of the aftermarket spark cables with a big groove in it from chafing on the cam cover. So... new cables, plugs and coils are on order and I'll save myself the labor on this, hopefully easy job. |

Mar-30, 2004 @ 88,020 miles I visited the Dealer and had them look at the brakes. The brake pedal felt low and I had trouble getting the car to lock the wheels in a panic stop. They flushed the brake fluid and resurfaced the rear drums - seems to be working better now. And while I was there I mentioned the coolant vomiting issue. I've got a new coolant reservoir cap and new water (coolant) pump - We'll see what happens. I had the tires rotated and oil changed too. |

Jan-26, 2004 @ 86,369 miles The coolant vomiting seems to be more frequent. I bought some Dex-cool equivalent today and topped off the reservoir. I have been adding plain water so I need to add straight coolant for a couple of more times before cutting it to a 50/50 mix. Not much else new other than I picked up an onry nail and while having it removed and the tire patched, I had the tires rotated and balanced again too. Looks like I'll need another set by summer. |
